Network Technician- Cabling

Everett, Wa
Cabling cleanup at multiple locations, including splicing cables, terminating cables, replacing
cables with appropriate cable lengths, installation of new cable management guides, removal of unused cables and
telephony equipment. Ensuring cables are of appropriate length to accommodate equipment removal/support.
Helping to coordinate system outages as appropriate due to cable cleanup activity. Testing port connections and
labeling jacks, cables, and ports. Other IT server and network hardware tasks as needed.

Past experience cabling or recabling network closets or computer rooms. Experience on using a cable tester. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Experience using port/cable testers. Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and available equipment for cable management and organization in network closets/equipment rooms. Ability to develop clear documentation as well as follow already established documentation. Ability to coordinate business impacting work with customers and support staff. Contractor must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and be able to drive between our facilities. Mileage will be reimbursed

Projects and functions to be performed:
Remove and replace cables from switches,servers and patch panels. Label ports, cables and jacks. Remove unnecessary cabling and identify all in-use cabling and re-terminate to existing patch panel. Replace excessively long cables or cables that are too short to permit operational device support. Remove unused terminal blocks or racks. Individual will need to prepare a set of tasks for review based on verbal conversation at each specific site. Some activity may need to occur at nights or on weekends.

Location: Everett
Pay: $25 per hour
