Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Inspector
Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Inspector for a public works combined sewer overflow control project and the requirements for this position include but are not limited to the following list of knowledge, skills and/or abilities:
  • Candidate should demonstrate successful past experience as an inspector on heavy civil construction projects including inspection of:
  • Underground cast-in-place concrete structural building or tank.
  • Inspection/coordination of utility relocation of multiple utilities.
  • Open trench pipeline, gravity or forcemain.
  • Provide field inspection services for construction trades including civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), as needed, and at the County’s request.
  • Draft daily written inspection reports in a format determined by the public agency.
Specific data to be recorded on daily inspection reports includes, but is not limited to:
Weather conditions, Workers (including archaeological monitors) / visitors / equipment on-site, Problems or issues encountered during the work, Safety issues, Work compliance or non-compliance with drawings and specifications, Date photos to specifically document progress and areas of concerns
  • Capture and compile photos and videos necessary to document the work. All photos to be labeled and logged. Photos shall be in digital format and downloaded and backed up daily in a manner that ensures their availability to public agency staff for review and allows printing for inclusion in reports.
  • Note any shut downs or outages.
  • Document any disruptions or deviations in work schedule.
  • Perform final inspection and create a punch list.
  • Collect and distribute reports from testing companies and special inspectors.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required, demonstrating a consistent commitment and ability to work with diverse work groups and individuals.
  • Education and Experience Related experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
  • Experience working on Combined Sewer Overflow Projects highly valued.
