.NET QA Tester

Do a a combination of projects with the primary focus being on the deployment of a new parking system. The work will consist of the following:
  • Develop and implement test plans and test cases for 3rd party vendor and in house developed software applications. Create, execute and analyze the results of tests for application features. This would include both software and hardware testing.
  • Review vendor provided test plans and test cases for quality, clarity and accuracy.
  • Perform both White and Black Box testing for UI and Middle Tier.
  • Coordinate with vendors and staff for test planning and execution.
  • Report bug findings to the project team.
  • Monitor progress against test schedule and report status to project team, including use of defect tracking system and interaction with staff on problem isolation.
The successful candidate must be technically proficient and have strong people skills. The candidate must be comfortable working on their own and in a business environment. Productive and efficient use of time is a priority, as is a professional and friendly demeanor. The assignment may occasionally require secondary work assignments. This position will require a standard 40 hour work week, with normal hours of 8-5.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES or OTHER WORK CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Experience creating, designing, evaluating, and executing test cases.
  • Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies and SDLC standards; client/server computing technologies (web, windows and mobile applications), architecture & database technologies.
  • Knowledge of TFS and Scrum practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of .Net applications.
  • Knowledge of test tool scripting experience a plus.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and analytical skills in recognizing and managing conflict situations.
  • Effective management to organize and prioritize tasks in a cross functional environment.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
3 years or more experience in software development and/or software testing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a large organization with vendor applications.
