Administrative Specialist I

The Primary Job Duties:

  *   Maintain Payroll files for the department, organizing and managing a high volume of documents daily; Manage documents by type, sorting into alphabetical and chronological order, and filing on a daily basis
  *   Prepare files for archiving (organize and box), create and maintain document lists of archived records; Arrange for, and oversee transfer of records to archives
  *   Maintain security and confidentiality of all documents and communications
  *   Track and retrieve information, files and/or data as requested
  *   Receive incoming mail, record locations and disburse to work groups
  *   Scan miscellaneous documents/files
  *   Provide back up for Directors Office phones
  *   Pick up and drop off  documents at various county locations
  *   Responsible for miscellaneous research projects, and performing other duties as assigned to support the Finance Section

Any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the work outlined above. Additional requirements include:


  *   Excellent organizational skills
  *   Detail oriented with great attention to quality and accuracy
  *   The ability to work on repetitive tasks, while maintaining speed and accuracy
  *   Experience exercising good judgment; the ability to recognize sensitive or confidential matters and maintain confidentiality at all times
  *   Demonstrated skill in following oral and written instructions, and following through on assignments as directed
  *   Strong customer service skills in person, via email and telephone (tact, discretion, courtesy and professionalism)

  *   Excellent oral and written communication skills
  *   Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently, and as part of a team
  *   Possess a positive outlook, with an eagerness to learn, take initiative, and think creatively
  *   Demonstrated ability to maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  *   Proficient in Windows environment, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  *   Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds

Location:Downtown
Duration: 2 to 4 months
Pay: $20.38 per hour
40 hours per week
8 AM to 4:30 PM,
