Work is performed under limited supervision, following established guidelines and
specific instructions. The individual(s) in this position will assist the department’s
records management specialist/HR by reviewing personnel files and redacting client
case information located in personnel files.
Sample duties are:
Review assigned employee personnel file
Identify and flag document(s) that appear to contain client case information
(such as name, address, etc)
o Photocopy/scan identified document;
o Place original flagged document in a separate file
o Utilize photocopied/scanned document and redact client identified
information
o Place redacted document in the employee file
Identify and flag documents that appear to contain medical information
o Place original document in a separate file
Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
Certification from a nationally accredited paralegal training institution and
three years related experience or any combination of
experience/education/training that provides the required knowledge, skills
and abilities to perform the work.
Knowledge of the Guidelines for Criminal Defense adopted by the Washington
State Bar Association.
Knowledge of the role of the attorney-client relationship and the requirement
to adhere to the Washington State Bar Association Rules of Professional
Responsibility.
Skill in using office software programs including word processing,
spreadsheet, database and email.
Knowledge of civil and criminal law and terminology, court rules and
procedures.
Knowledge of legal research methods and practices.
Knowledge of general office procedures, equipment and administration,
bookkeeping principles and banking procedures.
Skill in communicating verbally, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to ensure work performed conforms with prevailing professional
standards and applicable statutes and county policy.
Skill in interpreting complex legal documents, instruments, regulations, and
laws.
Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work both independently
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Pay: $29.09 per hour
