Legal Admin I (Filing /Receptionist)

Job Description:

Primary duties: 

    *   labeling 1100 boxes, working within a closet room, indexing, 
data lookup, data entry into Excel spreadsheet, filing, sound 
judgement, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Typical duties include: 
Provide daily receptionist coverage answering phones and referring callers to the appropriate resources, greeting visitors and clients
Process and route in-house and inter-office mail, electronic facsimiles, deliveries and shipments. Identify priority and time-sensitive materials
Receive, label, log, file and retrieve data, court cases and court documents
Consistently handle and maintain confidential information acquired during the course of all case work, following division guidelines
Perform administrative support tasks, such as word processing, copying, faxing, filing, data entry, mail distribution, file folder creation and file room maintenance
Maintain office voicemail
Follow conflict procedures
Provide coverage for other Legal Administrative Specialists
Close case files and file or e-file Notices of Appearances
Conduct daily court runs
Deliver mail and other documents to offices in the downtown Seattle corridor
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of general office procedures, equipment and administration. Familiarity with legal office administration and criminal justice system preferred.
Ability to perform general math computations.
Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook) document management and internet search engines.
Ability to effectively present information to attorneys, co-workers and clients.
Initiative and accountability skills for work product or service; must be dependable, and willing to assist co-workers as needed.
Excellent customer service skills including skill in communicating with people of diverse backgrounds and skill in dealing with difficult people.
Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals in a tactful, diplomatic, patient and professional manner, including individuals who may be angry and/or difficult either in person and via telephone.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism handling sensitive matters.
Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure with tight timelines and changing priorities, and simultaneously work on multiple assignments.
Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds
Fluency in a foreign language a plus.  Spanish

Duration: up to 10 weeks (on-site)
Location: Downtown Seattle
Pay: $20.38 per hour
